Perfect weather for us to support the wonderful Otterton Church Fete, held on the village green today. Lots of lovely stalls and enthusiastic volunteers. After browsing all the stalls we had a well-deserved break for a cuppa and cake.

It was lovely to hold our annual staff meeting where we all come together to share good ideas and take part in some of our essential training. This year we focused on our 'Ethos & Philosophy' with our staff deciding on our 'Top 10' priorities. See the concentration on their faces as they decided - what makes the Old Vicarage the special place it is? We also had a chance to discuss Human Rights and how to provide non-discriminatory care, that is inclusive and welcoming to all. A lovely occasion and a chance to put our heads together and the world to rights again! Also a big congratulations to our long service award recipients - four members of staff that have over 70 years of working at The Old Vicarage between them - lucky us!! We had to find somewhere to store all those extra cards while we were deciding!
Enjoying our 'Pimms on the Terrace' Party today. Its been a great Wimbledon so far, looking forward to the finals this weekend.
Afternoon tea at Exmouth Pavillion We had a lovely afternoon tea at the Pavillion, followed by a stroll along Exmouth sea front. Then we found a nice shady shelter to watch the world go by!
Doggie snuggles...Myla has been doing the rounds today, getting more than her fair share of cuddles and treats along the way!
The Old Vicarage features in the Exmouth & Budleigh JournalA lovely article and photos in our local newspaper, celebrating our 30th aniversary Coffee Morning. Click the link below to see the full article.
http://www.exmouthjournal.co.uk/news/old-vicarage-residential-care-home-holds-annual-summer-fete-attracting-more-than-200-people-1-5571140 A lovely evening for a stroll over to the Church for an uplifting Song of Praise service. We had the pleasure of meeting our new Vicar and his wife and looking forward to welcoming them to The Old Vicarage soon. We had to take the opportunity to have one last look at those lovely flower arrangements again! What a special evening.
Looking through all our lovely photos. Sherry party was a nice excuse to look through all our great photos from the coffee morning this year. The excitement was over all too soon last week, so it was great to re-live it again over a few glasses of sherry before lunch.
We had more than a few challenges, high winds and rain while we were setting up (we even had a fly away gazebo at one point - see picture) but once the gates opened and people arrived, we had some lovely sunshine and so many friendly faces! A huge thank you to our volunteers who have been wonderful again this year, one of them won the celebration cake and generously donated it back to the residents for their afternoon tea! It has been a great year, we can't think of a nicer way to celebrate our 30th coffee morning in the company of such lovely people. Thank you to Otterton Primary School for their display of country dancing - wonderful as ever!
