National Poetry Day is a UK-wide celebration of poetry which takes place every October. We have been celebrating poetry’s power to bring people together, with our staff and residents choosing their favourite poems to be read out. We had some beautiful readers and some absolutely wonderful poems chosen. What a lovely and relaxing afternoon!

A big thank you to our local clergy for a wonderful Harvest service and for joining us for a lovely, sociable harvest supper. Also a huge thank you for all the hard work behind the scenes, with the decorations, flowers and the preparation of a delicious supper. So nice to have residents, family, friends and staff all joining in.
We are busy arranging flowers and vegetables for our harvest festival display. Tomorrow we will be having a lovely service, followed by a lovely supper together to give thanks for our beautiful and bountiful Devonshire surroundings.
